- Hello!
-
- I've been using AFS on my system partition for a couple of months by now and
- it has worked just fine until now. But now , when I was saving a file I have
- been working with, a requester from AFS popped up saying:
- "Disk not valid
- Wrong bitmap id
- [Ok] [Cancel]"
- Directly after that, another one came up telling me "Disk update failed".
- After that these requesters comes about 50% of the times I try to save
- something. And usually, any program accessing the disk after that will hang.
- This only appears when writing, never when reading. So it is possible for me to
- make backup (377 Mb) and reformat the partition, but I really want some easier
- solution.
-
- Could this problem easily be solved ? (Using DiskSalv or something similar) or
- do I have to make a backup of my entire partition and reformat it ?
- Can it even be a hardware error on the drive ? (Hope _not_!).
-
- I have the following stuff connected to my A1200:
- Blizzard 1230IV, 50 Mhz, 4Mb, FPU
- Seagate 545xe HD
-
- Please help me!
-
- PS. I'm sorry for any spelling mistakes in this text, but English isn't my
- native language.
