  13. I've been using AFS on my system partition for a couple of months by now and
  14. it has worked just fine until now. But now , when I was saving a file I have
  15. been working with, a requester from AFS popped up saying:
  16.  "Disk not valid
  17.   Wrong bitmap id
  18.   [Ok]    [Cancel]"
  19. Directly after that, another one came up telling me "Disk update failed".
  20. After that these requesters comes about 50% of the times I try to save
  21. something. And usually, any program accessing the disk after that will hang.
  22. This only appears when writing, never when reading. So it is possible for me to
  23. make backup (377 Mb) and reformat the partition, but I really want some easier
  24. solution.

  26. Could this problem easily be solved ? (Using DiskSalv or something similar) or
  27. do I have to make a backup of my entire partition and reformat it ?
  28. Can it even be a hardware error on the drive ? (Hope _not_!).

  31. Blizzard 1230IV, 50 Mhz, 4Mb, FPU
  32. Seagate 545xe HD
